Abstract:

Information and communication technologies that are developing and constantly changing today have prepared the ground for some addictions to our lives. One of these dependencies is nomofobia. A researcher at the University of Connecticut, David Greenfield, defined this addiction by the word Nomophobia (Nomofobia) in English as a result of the combination of the words NOMOBILEPHONE. Nomofobia is a set of problem-related use, behavior and/or symptoms related to the use of a smartphone. In our country, considering the use of smartphones, it is important to determine what the behavioral reactions of individuals to the problem-used use of smartphones are. It is clear that this concern affects the quality of individuals focusing on daily tasks. In this study, an adaptive study of the relevant scale developed by Merlo, Stone and Bibbey (2013) for the purpose of identifying individuals' problematic smartphone uses and front psychometric characteristics. The scale’s validity and reliability studies have been carried out with the participation of 290 teachers working in public and private educational institutions. For the scope and appearance validity of the measurement, 1 language expert, 3 field experts, 1 psychological consultant, 1 measurement assessment expert have been applied. It has been used by the Opening Factor Analysis (AFA) to serve the construction validity. At the end of the study, a three-dimensional scale was obtained, consisting of 20 substances, which described 54.76% of the total variance. The internal consistency ratio calculated by Cronbach Alpha of the measurement is .91.In the three-dimensional context of the verifying factor analysis, the final consistency indicators have been found at the desired limits.
