Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to analyze the postgraduate theses aimed at the use of the concept of higher knowledge in the teaching of science, to reveal the status of the use of the concept of higher knowledge in the teaching of science. The data of the research carried out by adopting the quality research approach has been obtained through the document review. Research data are limited to graduate theses obtained from the database of the YÖK (National Thesis Center). The universe of research, the subject department consists of sub-graduate education theses, which are classified as cognitive, superior cognitive, trans- cognitive, executive cognitive, trans-conscious, advanced cognitive, cognitive knowledge and cognitive awareness. In the examples of the research, a total of 24 master’s, 11 doctoral theses, including 35 sub-graduate theses, were included in the teaching of sciences. According to the findings obtained by the document analysis; mostly experimental studies were conducted, and the sample group consisted of 7th-class high school students and science knowledge teachers candidates. The studies have been conducted with the aim of raising upper cognitive awareness and skills and the results of the activities have been shown that the objectives are achieved.
