This study aims to prolong the quality of sugar beet pulp via use of ensiling, and find out which nutritional process is cheaper and executable, by comparing the traditional beef ration and sugar beet pulp silage based ration in beef cattle according to the weight gains of the beef cattle and cost of the diet. To get proper silage fermentation, sugar beet pulp was ensiled, by adding 4% cracked wheat, and 6% wheat straw in order to increase the level of dry matter above 20%. By that way a mixture of 90% sugar beet pulp, 4% cracked wheat and 6% wheat straw was ensiled. Fattening experiment was done with a control and trial group of 6 each, 12 beef as a total. In the experiment, fattening performances and cost of the feed were explored, moreover serum glucose, urea, total protein, calcium, phosphor and ruminal ammonia levels of animals were recorded. It was noted that DM (dry matter), ash, CP (crude protein), EE (ether extract), NDF (nötral detergent fiber) and ADF (acid detergent fiber) levels of total sugar beet pulp silage (SBPS) were 22.82%, 5.35%, 9.41%, 0.81%, 66.10% and 38.47% respectively. Live weight gain were 101.13 kg, 117.98 kg, 132.83 kg, 149.23 kg and 164.50 kg for control group; 102.70 kg, 117.32 kg, 135.48 kg, 153.49 kg and 171.60 kg for experiment group for 0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 days, respectively (p>0.05). Serum glucose urea, total protein, calcium and phosphor levels were similar but ruminal ammonia level was less in experimental group (p<0.05) compared with the control group. Total live weight gain, and total gains were statically similar between two groups. However, because dressing percentages of the animals fed experimental diet (50.85%) were greater than animals fed traditional diet (48.69%), and also due to lower fed cost of experimental diet, animals fed experimental diet provided better fattening performance (95%) compared with animals fed traditional diet.
