Introduction: Constipation is an intestinal subtype of the irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) which affects women and men of all ages, with predominance in females and that leads to great suffering. Objective: This study aimed to review the effects of probiotics and exercise physical on constipation. Literature Review: There is evidence for probiotics in the treatment and especially prevention of symptoms of the diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, and the adhesion of the intestinal mucosa may be one of the main reasons for the beneficial effects of probiotics. Furthermore, studies about the effect of physical exercises on the tratogastrointestinal show interesting results, but its action in constipation show no significant effects. Conclusion: The results show that probiotics may be an alternative in the treatment or relief of symptoms of constipation. Regarding the exercise, although some degree of confidence of the effects for this purpose, there are few studies, their follow-up is short which shows a degree of uncertainty of its action in constipation.
