Abstract:

Bu araştırma TÜBİTAK 4004 Doğa Eğitimi ve Bilim Okulları kapsamında yürütülen “Doğada Bilim Yapıyorum!” projesinin sonuçlarını içermektedir. Proje kapsamında, beş gün boyunca Sevgi Evlerinden gelen 40 ortaokul öğrencisi ile fen, astronomi, sanat, spor ve müzik alanlarında sorgulama becerilerini geliştirecek bilimsel çalışmalar ve doğayı bilimsel bir gözle gözlemlemelerini sağlayacak argüman odaklı interaktif etkinlikler yürütülmüştür. Yürütülen çalışmada, öğrencilerin düzenli olarak “Doğa ve Bilim Günlüğü” tutmaları sağlamış ve projenin öğrenciler üzerinde oluşturduğu etkiyi ölçmek amacıyla ön test ve son test olarak “Bilimsel Alan Gezisi Tutum Ölçeği”, “Bilimsel Tutum Ölçeği” ve “Çevre Algı Ölçeği” uygulanmıştır. Uygulanan ölçeklerin etik kurul kararı, proje uygulama tarihinden önce alınmıştır. Ölçeklerden elde edilen verilerin nicel analizleri sonucunda projenin, çocukların çevre algısı ve bilimsel tutum üzerinde büyük oranda, bilimsel alan gezisi tutumu üzerinde ise orta düzeyde bir etki oluşturulduğu sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır. Katılımcı öğrencilerin “Doğa ve Bilim Günlüklerinin” nitel analizleri sonucunda ise 6 farklı tema tespit edilmiş ve çalışmada ayrıntılı irdelenmiştir.

Abstract:

This research includes the results of the project “Doing Science in Nature!“ carried out within the scope of TUBITAK 4004 Nature Education and Science Schools. Within the context of the project, scientific studies were conducted with 40 secondary school students from Children Houses in order to develop their skills of questioning in the areas of science, astronomy, art, sports and music, as well as argument-oriented interactive activities that would enable them to observe the nature with a scientific eye for five days. In the research that was carried out, the students were made keep a “Diary of Nature and Science” regularly and “Scientific Field Trip Attitude Scale”, “Scientific Attitude Scale”, “Environmental Perception Scale” were applied as pre-test and post-test to measure the impact of the project on the students. Ethics committee decision of the aforementioned scales had been made before the project implementation date. As a result of quantitative analyses of the data acquired from the scales, it was determined that the project had a great impact on children’s environmental perceptions and scientific attitudes and a moderate impact on their scientific field trip attitudes. 6 different themes were identified as a result of the qualitative analysis of the Natural and Science Diaries.        As a result of qualitative analyses of the participant students’ “Diaries of Nature and Science”, on the other hand, six different themes were determined and examined in the research in detail.
