Abstract:

The childhood is the most important period of development, with many problems faced. Cognitive, emotional and social disorders, especially in adolescence, can deepen the problems of young people and prevent them from exposing their potential both in youth and in the future. Children and adolescents spend much of their time at school throughout their development process. There may also be problems in these environments. School harassment and school violence incidents are a significant part of these problems that have been widespread in recent years. Since school harassment has a negative impact on children’s academic success and their psychosocial well-being, they are prevented from realizing themselves depending on the unsafe school climate, and the effects of harassment are spread over a long period, harassment becomes a matter that should be taken into consideration in school. This study aims to determine school harassment, kinds of harassment and rates of harassment; harassment in terms of variables such as gender, age, class, school, family monthly income, academic success, school satisfaction, parental educational status and detected parental attitude. Also fellow harassment was evaluated in the context of school social services and solutions proposals were presented. Research data have been obtained from 540 students in the four high schools in the Artvin Ili Borçka District Centre in the spring period of educational teaching 2017-2018. As a data collection tool, the personal information form, the Turkish version of the Acran Victim Scale and the Acran Violence Scale has been used. In the assessment of the collected data, the average, standard deviation, Ki-Care, T-Test, Anova, Correlation, Factor Analysis and Hierarchical Regression analyses were used.
