Abstract:

Aim: In this systematic review, " What are the applications of nurses for pain after surgery in studies conducted in Turkey?"it was made to look for answers to the question. Material and Methods: Google Scholar, Pudmed, Scince Direct, Google academic databases are used in literature scanning. Scans were searched with the keywords ‘pain after surgery’, ‘pain after surgery’, ‘nursing practices in surgical pain’, ‘painmanagement’, ‘surgicalpain’, ‘postoperativepain’, ‘nursingpractices in surgicalpain’. Turkish and English studies were included in the study, which can be reached in the full text published between 2010-2020 by going to the time limit. The research included in the study consists of a total of 19 studies, 9 of which are descriptive, 3 of which are descriptive and cross-sectional, 5 of which are experimental and 2 of which are randomized controlled. Results: In all studies, it was found that the presence of pain after surgery, factors that increase pain, reduce pain, and interventional practices aimed at reducing it were evaluated. It was determined that the studies were obtained using forms created by researchers to evaluate and some pain assessment scales. The review found that nurses used methods such as applications for relieving patients ' pain, foot massage, anti-pressure gel pads, listening to music, relaxation exercises and bioenergy. In addition, it has been determined that the methods applied are usually aimed at evaluating pain. Conclusion: In this study, it was concluded that nurses generally use pharmacological methods, less use non-pharmacological methods and pain assessment scales.
