GİRİŞ ve AMAÇ: Bu çalışmanın amacı, üst çenede konvansiyonel total protez ve alt çenede 2 implant destekli hareketli protez (IDO) kullanan hastaların, IDO protezlerden genel memnuniyetlerinin ve en sık kullanılan tutucu tiplerinden olan locator sistem ve ball ataşmanların, bu memnuniyet üzerine etkilerinin araştırılmasıdır. YÖNTEM ve GEREÇLER: Yapılan bu araştırmada, 113 hastanın katılımıyla, OHIP-49 testi sorularından seçilen 10 sorudan yararlanılarak, üst çenede konvansiyonel tam protez, alt çenede IDO kullanan hastaların, öncelikle IDO protezlerinden genel memnuniyetleri ve ardından hastaların tutucu tiplerine göre ball ataşman (BALL) ve locator grubu (LOC) olarak ayrılmasıyla, bu iki tutucu tipinin hastaların memnuniyetleri üzerindeki etkileri değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca her iki koşulda cinsiyet ve yaş faktörlerine göre bu memnuniyetlerdeki değişimler incelenmiştir. Elde edilen veriler istatistiksel olarak analiz edilmiştir. BULGULAR: Çalışmaya katılan 113 hastanın yaş ve cinsiyet faktörlerinden bağımsız olarak, genel anlamda IDO’lardan, en yüksek memnuniyetsizlik puanı olan 40 puan üzerinden 10,5 (±7,5) puan ile memnun olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Tutucu tipine göre değerlendirme yapıldığında; BALL grubunda 55 hastada elde edilen 10,07 ± 7,94 ve LOC grubunda 58 hastada elde edilen 10,91 ± 7,19 memnuniyet skorlarına göre, tutucu tipinin hem genel hem de yaş-cinsiyet faktörlerine göre ayrı ayrı değerlendirildiğinde, hasta memnuniyetleri açısından istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark oluşmadığı tespit edilmiştir. TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ: Bu çalışmanın sınırları dahilinde, IDO protezlerin yarattıkları memnuniyet skorlarına göre, hastaların yaşam kaliteleri üzerinde olumlu etkisinin olduğu ve bu memnuniyetin kullanılan tutucu tipinden ve cinsiyet-yaş faktörlerinden etkilenmediği sonucuna varılmıştır.
Introduction and Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate the effects on this satisfaction of patients using conventional total prothesis in the upper neck and 2 implant-backed moving prothesis (IDO) in the lower neck, the general satisfaction of the IDO prothesis and the locator system and ball attachments, among the most commonly used types of holders. Method and Requirements: In this study, with the participation of 113 patients, taking advantage of the 10 questions selected from the OHIP-49 test questions, the conventional full prothesis in the upper neck, the general satisfaction of patients using IDO in the lower neck, first by the IDO prothesis, and then by the patient's distribution to the ball attachment (BALL) and locator group (LOC) according to the holding types, the effects of these two holding types on the patient's satisfaction were assessed. In both circumstances, the changes in these satisfactions have been studied according to gender and age factors. The data obtained are statistically analyzed. The study found that 113 patients, regardless of age and gender factors, were satisfied with an overall IDO score of 10.5 (±7.5) out of 40 points with the highest insatisfaction score. According to the satisfaction scores of 10,07 ± 7,94 in 55 patients in the BALL group and 10,91 ± 7,19 in 58 patients in the LOC group, the patient’s satisfaction was not statistically significant when the patient’s type was evaluated separately according to both general and age-gender factors. RELATED AND RESULTATED: Within the limits of this study, according to the satisfaction scores created by the IDO protheses, it has been concluded that patients have a positive impact on the quality of life and that this satisfaction is not affected by the type of container used and by gender-age factors.
