Sakarya Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesi Din Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı öğretim üyelerinden Prof. Dr. Hasan Meydan’ın kaleme aldığı bu çalışma, tüm dünyada ve ülkemizde hâkim olan postmodern iklime genelde bir eğitimci özelde ise bir “din eğitimcisi” nazarından bakmaktadır. Bu bağlamda geleneksel, modern ve postmodern üçlemesinde karşılaştırmalı olarak gerek toplum, epistemoloji, etik, ahlak, pedagoji gibi hususların gerekse din ve değer konularının küreselleşen dünyada postmodern bireyin hayatında nerede durduğuna ışık tutmaktadır. Bunu gerçekleştirirken de postmodern düşüncenin teorik kaynaklarından yararlanmakta ve konuyla ilgili değerlendirmeleri bütüncül bir perspektifle sunmayı hedeflemektedir. Bu genel hedefinin yanı sıra din eğitimcilerini söz konusu postmodern dünyada karşılaşacakları imkân ve zorluklar noktasında da haberdar etme gayesindedir. Postmodern İklimde Din ve Değerleri Öğretmek isimli eserinde Meydan, postmodern düşüncenin teorik kaynaklarından yararlanmakta ve konuyla ilgili değerlendirmeleri bütüncül bir perspektifle sunmayı hedeflemektedir. Değerler eğitimi sahasında Prof. Dr. Hasan Meydan’ın çeşitli yıllarda yayınlanmış başka eserlerinin de mevcut olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu eser ise, değerler eğitimi ve postmodern düşünce ilişkisini kaleme aldığı kapsamlı bir çalışmadır. Başka bir ifadeyle yazar, konuyla ilgili diğer çalışmalarının yanı sıra incelediğimiz bu eserinde meseleyi postmodern iklim nazarından ele alıyor ve meseleye bir de bu yönden ışık tutuyor görünmektedir. Kitap giriş bölümünün ardından beş ana başlıkta meseleyi ele almaya çalışmaktadır. Bu başlıklarda postmodernite bağlamında insanın anlam arayışından epistemolojiye, postmodern pedagojiden din ve etik konusundaki tartışmalara kadar pek çok konuya yer vermektedir. Eserin hedef kitlesi genel anlamda postmodern düşünce ve din ve değer alanında okuma yapmak isteyen kimseler özelde ise din eğitimcileridir. Çalışma, postmodern düşüncenin eğitim programlarımızı yeniden inşa etmiş olmasına karşın bu durumun bütüncül olarak incelenmediği düşüncesinden hareketle kendi sahasında önemli bir açığı gidermektedir.

In the field of values education it is known that Prof. Dr. Hasan Meydan’s other works published in various years are also available. This work, however, is a comprehensive study of the value education and postmodern thinking relationship. In other words, the author, in addition to his other work on the subject, in this work we study, addresses the issue from the postmodern climate, and it seems that the issue also keeps light in this direction. After the book entrance section, it tries to discuss the issue in five main titles. These titles include many subjects in the context of postmodernity, from the search for human meaning to epistemology, from postmodern pedagogy to the discussions on the subject of religion and ethics. The target audience of the work is in general those who want to read in the field of postmodern thinking and religion and values, and in particular those who want to read in the field of religion educators. The study removes a significant gap in its field by moving from the idea that the postmodern thought has rebuilt our educational programs and that this situation is not fully studied.
