This paper is part of a broader study of business idioms, in which I explore the treatment of these units in terminographical resources in paper and digital format (dictionaries, glossaries, terminological databases). The study aims to discover which of these systems offers the most complete treatment of idioms and, therefore, would be most useful to the translator-user. The present article studies the entries of five business idioms in sixteen on-line business dictionaries and glossaries, monolingual, bilingual and multilingual. It analyses whether these specialized dictionaries and glossaries have fully developed the terminographical possibilities of the electronic format, and compares the qualities and limitations of these resources with those of dictionaries on paper.
