Abstract:

Family consultancy is a psychological consultancy given to a group of individuals who make up a family. The family counseling helps people with relations problems during marriage, divorce and divorce more comfortably overcome their problems with their children and/or their personal or family-related problems. Family consultancy is different from other types of consultancy because it focuses on the family system as a whole. The individual is not identified as problematic, instead the problem of the family system is identified. While this identified problem is attempted to be solved by conversations that include all family members, the family counselor is in a management position that guides conversations. Family doctors are obliged to provide first-level diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitating health services to each individual, without any difference of age, gender and disease, in a comprehensive and continuous manner. They should play an effective role in the practice of family counseling. The role they will take in the field of family consultancy will also play an important role in the functionality of family relations and in the public health. In this presentation of the fact, a family that applied to our family medicine and family consultancy clinic at the University of Atatürk to solve the problems they live within the family was studied.
