Bu araştırmanın amacı, müzik öğretmeni adaylarının beş büyük kişilik özelliklerinin çalgı öz yeterlik durumlarını yordama durumunu incelemektir. Araştırmanın amacı doğrultusunda ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini Türkiye’nin Ege Bölgesinde bulunan müzik eğitimi anabilim dallarında öğrenim gören öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemi, Ege Bölgesinde yer alan Muğla, Denizli, Aydın, İzmir illerindeki müzik eğitimi anabilim dallarında öğrenim gören 378 öğrenci ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlarda, müzik öğretmeni adaylarının çalgı öz yeterlik durumları 10 puan üzerinden 5.54 olarak tespit edilmiş ve çalgı öz yeterlik ölçeği ile çalgı solo performans ve çalgı genel not ortalaması değişkeni arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı ilişkiler olduğu saptanmıştır. Diğer taraftan dışa dönüklük, öz disiplin ve açıklık kişilik özelliği ile solo performans arasında p<,05 düzeyinde pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki bulunurken, açıklık kişilik özelliği ile not ortalaması arasında da p<,05 düzeyinde pozitif yönde ve anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bunun yanı sıra müzik öğretmeni adaylarının beş büyük kişilik özellikleri ile çalgı öz yeterlik durumları arasında birçok anlamlı ilişkiler tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmanın amacı doğrultusunda müzik öğretmeni adaylarının beş büyük kişilik özellikleri ve çalgı öz yeterlik durumları arasında anlamlı ilişkiler olsa da, beş büyük kişilik özelliklerinin müzik öğretmeni adaylarının çalgı öz yeterlik durumlarını yeterince önemli olmayan düşük bir düzeyde yordadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
The purpose of this research is to examine the predictive status of the five major personality traits of music teacher candidates (MTC) for their instrument self-efficacy. For the purpose of the research, relational screening model has been used. The population of the research consists of students studying in music education departments in the Aegean Region of Turkey. The sample of the research was carried out with 378 students studying in the departments of music education in the provinces of Muğla, Denizli, Aydın and İzmir in the Aegean Region. In the results obtained from the research, the instrument self-efficacy status of the music teacher candidates was determined as 5.54 out of 10 points and it has been determined that there is a positive and significant relationship between instrument self-efficacy scale and instrument solo performance and instrument GPA variable. On the other hand, while there was a positive and significant relationship at the p<.05 level between extroversion, self-discipline and openness personality traits and solo performance, it was concluded that there was a positive and significant relationship at the p<.05 level between openness personality trait and GPA. In addition, many significant relationships were found between the five major personality traits of music teacher candidates and their instrument self-efficacy.In line with the purpose of the study, although there are significant relationships between the music teacher candidates' five major personality traits and their instrument self-efficacy, it was concluded that the five major personality traits predicted the instrument self-efficacy of the music teacher candidates at a low level that was not significant enough.
