Kadının iç dünyasını, toplumsal rolünü, bedenini anlamaya ve sorgulamaya yönelik olarak ortaya çıkan feminist sanat; kimlik, beden, cinsellik ve şiddet gibi kavramları görselleştirerek irdelemektedir. Kadın sanatçıların cinsiyet rollerine ilişkin sorgulamalarını insana özgü en doğal ve özel alan olan beden üzerinden, hatta kendi bedenleri üzerinden yapmaları kadına özgü duyarlılığın farklı sanat hareketleriyle sanata yansımasını sağlamıştır. Cinsel kimlik ve toplumsal cinsiyet meselesi psikoloji ve felsefe alanında geniş bir yer edindiği gibi çağdaş sanat kavramı içinde de önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bahsi geçen bu cinsel kimlik konusu çağdaş sanatın interdisipliner yapısı ve gelişen teknolojik olanaklarıyla yeni bir söylem alanı bularak aynı zamanda görsel bir dile kavuşmuştur. Bu çalışmada feminist sanatçıların beden üzerinden gerçekleştirdikleri sanatsal çalışmaları ve toplumsal cinsiyet söylemleri incelenmiştir.
The feminist art that emerges to understand and question the inner world of the woman, the social role of the woman, the body of the woman; the concepts such as identity, body, sexuality and violence are visualized. Women’s artists have made their questions about gender roles through the body, the most natural and special area of human nature, and even through their own bodies, so that the female sensitivity is reflected in art with different art movements. The issue of sexual identity and social gender has an important place in the concept of contemporary art as it has a broad place in the field of psychology and philosophy. The subject of this mentioned sexual identity has also reached a visual language by finding a new sphere of speech with the interdisciplinary structure of contemporary art and developing technological possibilities. This study examined the artwork performed by feminist artists through the body and the social gender statements.
