Bu çalışmada amaç, 2008-2017 yılları arasında beşeri ve iktisadi coğrafya alanında yapılan yüksek lisans ve doktora tezlerinin incelenerek, son on yılda beşeri coğrafya çalışmalarındaki eğilimin belirlenmeye çalışılmasıdır. Çalışmada, tezler türleri, yapıldıkları yıllar, yapıldıkları üniversiteler, çalışılan konu ve kullanılan yönteme göre incelenmiştir. Çalışmada, 294 yüksek lisans, 54 doktora tezi olmak üzere toplamda 348 tez incelenmiştir. Tezlerin yıllara göre dağılımlarında, en fazla tez bitirilen yıl 2010, en fazla tez bitirilen üniversite İstanbul Üniversitesi’dir. Tezlerde en fazla çalışılan temel konular yerleşme coğrafyası ve turizm coğrafyasıdır. İncelen tezler, daha çok betimlemeye yönelik bölgesel coğrafya yaklaşımıyla hazırlanmış tezlerdir. Tezlerde en fazla kullanılan nicel veri toplama tekniği anket, nitel veri toplama tekniği ise gözlem ve görüşmedir.
