Bilimsel temellere dayalı ve bütüncül bir hemşirelik bakımı verebilmek için hemşirelik kuram ve modelleri önemli bir role sahiptir. Kuram ve modeller, kronik hastalık yönetiminde, hemşirelik bakımını planlamada, hemşirelik uygulama ve araştırmalarında önemli ve yol göstericidir. Bakımın kalitesini ve etkinliğini artırır. Geçmişten günümüze kadar hemşirelik alanında yayınlanan ve uygulanabilirliği kanıtlanan modellerin sayısı gün geçtikçe artmaktadır. Bu kuram ve modellerin farklı alanlarda uygulanması, ilişkin örneklerin zenginleştirilmesi ve hemşirelik bakımına somutlaştırılarak yansıtılması, hemşirelerin hasta bakımına farklı bakış açısı ile bütüncül yaklaşmasında etkili olacaktır. Dorothy Johnson tarafından geliştirilen Davranışsal Sistem Modeli bireyin hem biyolojik hem de davranışsal sistem olmak üzere iki sisteme sahip olduğunu ileri sürmektedir. Davranışsal sistem yedi alt sistemi içermektedir. Bunlar; bağlılık (yakın ilişki), savunma (koruyucu), bağımlılık, boşaltım, besin, cinsellik ve başarı alt sistemidir. Bu modele göre; hemşire bireyi bir bütün olarak ele alır, kişinin davranış değişikliğine odaklanır ve sistemdeki alt başlıkların dengesinin sağlanmasından sorumludur. Yapılan literatür taramasında, hem Dorothy Johnson’ın modeli ile ilgili çalışmaların hem de multiple sklerozlu hastaların bakımında kuram ve modellerin kullanılmasına ilişkin yayınların sınırlı sayıda olduğu gözlenmiştir. Bu çalışmada multiple sklerozlu bir hastanın bakım süreci Dorothy Johnson’ın Davranışsal Sistem Modeli temel alınarak planlanmıştır. Davranışsal Sistem Modeli kullanılarak oluşturulan bu olgu sunumu, İstanbul ilinde Avrupa yakasındaki bir eğitim araştırma hastanesinin nöroloji yan dal polikliniğinde ayaktan tedavi gören multiple sklerozlu bir hastadan sözlü ve yazılı onam alındıktan sonra hazırlanmıştır.
The theory and models of nursing play an important role in providing a scientific and comprehensive nursing care. The theory and models are important and guidant in chronic disease management, nursing care planning, nursing practice and research. Increases the quality and effectiveness of care. The number of models published in the field of nursing from the past to the present and proven to be applicable is increasing on a daily basis. The application of these theories and models in different fields, the enrichment of the relevant examples and the reflection of them in the nursing care will be effective in the nurses' approach to the patient care with a different perspective and a comprehensive approach. The Behavioral System Model, developed by Dorothy Johnson, suggests that an individual has two systems, both biological and behavioral. The behavioral system contains seven sub-systems. These are the sub-systems of devotion, defence, addiction, discharge, nutrition, sexuality and success. According to this model; the nurse treats the individual as a whole, focuses on the person’s behavior change and is responsible for ensuring the balance of the subtitles in the system. In the scan of the literature, it was observed that both Dorothy Johnson's studies on the model and the limited number of publications on the use of theories and models in the care of multiple sclerosis patients were observed. In this study, the care process of a patient with multiple sclerosis is planned on the basis of Dorothy Johnson's Behavioral System Model. This presentation of the fact, created using the Behavioral System Model, was prepared after a oral and written approval from a multiple sclerosis patient who was treated by foot in the neurology side branch clinic of an educational research hospital in the European side of the province of Istanbul.

These; It is a subsystem of commitment (close relationship), defense (protective), dependence, excretion, nutrition, sexuality and achievement. According to this model; the nurse treats the individual as a whole, focuses on the individual's behavior change and is responsible for ensuring the balance of the subheadings in the system. In the literature review, it was observed that both the studies on Dorothy Johnson's model and the literature on the use of theories and models in the care of patients with multiple sclerosis were limited. In this study, the care process of a patient with multiple sclerosis was planned based on Dorothy Johnson's Behavioral System Model. This case report, which was formed by using the Behavioral System Model, was prepared after verbal and written consent was obtained from a patient with multiple Sclerosis who was treated as an outpatient in the neurology sub-clinic of an educational research hospital in the European side of Istanbul
