Portre resim sanatı kişinin estetik gelişimi, eser yaratma süreci ve bireysel kimliğin resimsel ifadesinde etkili bir sanattır. Araştırmada, öğrencilerle otoportre çalışması yapılması yoluyla bireysel kimliklerini kendilerine özgü bir tarzda ortaya koymalarını sağlamak ve güzel sanatlar liselerinin resim dersleri müfredatında yer alan portre çalışmalarının bireysel kimlik tanımlama becerilerine olan katkısını belirlemek amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırmada hem nicel hem de nitel verilerin birlikte çözümlendiği karma yöntem uygulanmıştır. Bütün öğrencilere ön test ve son test kapsamında ayna götürülerek üç ders saati otoportre yaptırılmıştır. Her iki grup öğrencilerine ön test ve son test olarak araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan “Anket Formu” uygulanmıştır. Deney grubu öğrencilerine yine araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan portre ve otoportre resminin ne olduğu, portre resminin yapılma amaçları, portre resim türlerine yönelik kapsamlı bir sunum yapılmıştır. Bu araştırmanın sonucuna göre, portre ve otoportre konularının benimsenmesi ve uygulanması sonrasında deney grubu lehine anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmuştur. Ayrıca öğrenciler otoportre çalışması yoluyla kendi görüntülerini, çevrelerini ve bireysel farklılıklarını daha iyi anlayabildiklerini ortaya koymuşlardır.
Portrait painting art is an effective art in the aesthetic development of the person, the process of creation of the work and the visual expression of the individual identity. The research aims to ensure that students and their self-portrait studies show their individual identity in a unique way and to determine the contribution of the portrait studies included in the painting courses of the high schools to their individual identity identification skills. The research has applied a karma method in which both quantum and quality data are solved together. All students were taken with a mirror in the framework of the preliminary test and the final test for three hours of autoportrets. The "Anket Form" was applied to both groups of students as a pre-test and final test prepared by the researcher. The experiment group gave students a comprehensive presentation on what the portrait and self-portrait images were prepared by the researcher, the purposes of making the portrait picture, the portrait picture types. According to the results of this study, after the adoption and implementation of the portraits and self-portraits subjects, a significant difference was found in favour of the experimental group. Students have also shown that they can better understand their own images, environments and individual differences through self-portrait studies.
The art of portrait drawing affects one’s aesthetical development, processes for producing art, and pictorial expression of individual identity. The current research aims to enable students’ expression of their individual identity in distinct ways through a self-portrait drawing activity and to assess how the portrait drawing activities within the high school curriculum contribute to their ability to depict their individual identities. The research uses a mixed-methods design where qualitative and quantitative data are analyzed together using an experimental and control group design. In both the pretest and posttest stages, all students have been given a mirror and asked to make a self-portrait during a three-hour class. In the pretest and posttest stages, both groups of students were asked to fill out survey forms that had been prepared by the researcher. Students in the experimental group were given a comprehensive presentation for explaining what portraits and self-portraits are, what the purpose is for drawing portraits, and what types of portrait drawings exist. According to the results, a statistically significant difference in favor of the experimental group has been found after assimilating and applying the topics of portraits and self-portraits. Furthermore, the students expressed a higher understanding of their own images, surroundings, and individual differences.
