Abstract:

The aim of this work, which has been done by conversations with people living in the village, from Yeniköy to Kahramanmaraş, has been to reveal the causes, consequences of the migration to Kahramanmaraş, the social change that occurs in the process of integration with the city, the change in the lives of the people living in the village and the impact of the migration on the people of the village. In this regard, the main problem of the research is the situation of social change in the families who migrated to Kahramanmaraş and the families living in the village. The findings of our research are as follows: rural people with low education and well-being levels are unable to easily integrate with urban production relationships. By migrating from the village to the city for educational purposes, the children of the families who complete their education are seen moving upward and upward in the context of rapid integration with the city and social mobility. In the village, there is a decline in degradation, abandonment and social relationships. In addition to this, in order to be held in the city, there is the support of relatives, nurses, neighbors in the matters of housing, job finding. When we look at the findings of our study, it has been seen that immigrants try to adapt to K.Maraş and the city culture on the one hand, while their own cultures have become part of the city. While studying the social changes of immigrant and non-immigrant families, the data we obtain from field research has been tried to interpret using quality research techniques.
