Abstract:

Early marriages, which are harmful practices in terms of human rights and the best interests of children, still exists today as a problem affecting girls in particular because of gender inequality in the world and Turkey. Migration is a process that carries various risks in terms of early marriages. Early marriages are a problem that Turkey faces in its internal and external migration experiences. Early marriages in Turkey have recently come to the fore with Syrians living under temporary protection. Syrian children can be forced to marry at an early age in the insecure war environment before migration, during their migration journey and in the countries they migrated to after migration. Early marriages in the migration process; It threatens the fundamental rights of children such as security, health and education. In this study, the phenomenon of early marriage has been evaluated with a gender perspective for Syrians under temporary protection who migrated to Turkey.
