Abstract:

Violence against women remains a major problem in Turkey and in the world. Government governments, civil society organizations and private organizations are doing a lot of work to find a solution to the problem of violence against women. One of the most used tools in these studies is social posters. Social posters are non-profit posters that direct individuals to do the right thing, bring social concerns, help individuals and illuminate them. These social benefit-focused posters use a number of indicators to fulfill their goals, and while using these indicators, they benefit from social consensus codes, methonomy, metaphor and myths. These effective means of communication play a significant role in reducing or even ending violence against women. The effective and correct use of semiotic units in the designs of the sheet is very important in terms of the success of the desired translation of meaning. Also, in addition to the meanings that the indicators are used to be transmitted, the possibility of creating other side meanings can be a sign of the existence of a problem. Therefore, the indicative analysis is very important. With this importance, in this study, the posters on violence against women have been analyzed in an indicative method and suggests that they will contribute to this area.
