High technology capacity of developing countries and the concentration of efforts in this area by bringing them to the technology exporter position, and developing countries with inadequate and low capacity in technological terms, it is seen that in high level of imported technology addiction. This study investigates the relationship between foreign high technology irnports, domestic investments, technology level, human capital and economic growth in Turkey for the period 1980—2013 by using ARDL bound test. The empirical results indicate that high technology import and domestic investment has signifıcant and positive effect on economic growth of Turkey. In addition, human capital and technology level changes positive but minor effects on economic growth. On the other hand, the effect of high technology import is higher than the effect of domestic investment for enhancing economic growth. The findings in this paper implies that imports of high technology is an effective way of facilitating sustainable economic growth by supported development of human capital and technology.
