Abstract:

2020

Abstract:

The study has been conducted to examine the relationship between exam anxiety levels of paramedic students and their success in CPR practice exam. The universe of the descriptive study consisted of paramedic 2nd grade students studying at a foundation university vocational school and the sample has been formed with 67 students who agreed to participate. The data have been collected in February 2020 by using the socio-demographic information form, CPR Implementation Guide (CPRIG) and Exam Anxiety Scale (EAS). SPSS-24 package program was used, and number, percentage, average, T test in independent groups, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation analysis have been performed. It has been determined that the average age of the participants was 19.93±1.8, 70.1% were women, 50. 7% were health vocational high school graduates. It has been detected that the average scores of SCI (104.3 ± 25.3) and CPRIG (84.6 ± 13.1) of women were higher than the average scores of SCI (97.8 ± 19.9) and CPRIG (82.5 ± 14.1) of men, but there was no significant difference between them (p> 0.05). The EAS score has been found as 102.4±23.9. It has been determined that, the CPRIG score of the students was 84.01±13.3 and the process steps where the students got the highest score were; to evaluate the patient's consciousness (9.4±2.2), to make reassessment in five cycles (9.37±2.2) and to perform 30 Chest Compressions-2 breaths in one cycle (9.21±2.2). It has been detected that exam anxiety level average of the participants in the study was medium and CPRIG average score was at good level, and significant relationship has not been determined between the total score of CPRIG and exam anxiety level.
