This study was aimed at researching the relationship between free radicals and antioxidants in healthy and diabetic rats. For this, MDA was determined with the levels of Homosysteine, Leptin, A, E, C vitamins and some lipid components in healthy and diabetes-created rats. For this purpose, 10 weeks, 20 healthy and 20 experimentally created diabetic ratda MDA with HCY, leptin, Vit A, E, C and some lipid components were studied. In the diabetic group, plasma MDA levels increased according to the control group (p<0.05), while HCY, leptin and vitamin C levels decreased (p<0.05). The levels of vitamin A and E have not changed (p>0.05). In addition, the HDL is significantly low in the diabetic group compared to the control group (p<0. 05), cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL and VLDL were also found significantly high in the diabetic group according to the control group (p<0.05). While the low levels of homocysteine obtained in the study do not carry the risk for cardiovascular diseases, it can be said that weight gain developing with low levels of leptin, the high serum cholesterol and the increase in MDA levels will lead to metabolic diseases such as heart disease and hypertension.
