Bu çalışmada Masaüstü yayıncılık eğitiminde kitap yazma etkinliğinin öğrencilerin motivasyon düzeyleri üzerindeki etkileri araştırılmıştır. Araştırma yarı deneysel, eşitlenmemiş kontrol grup modelidir. Araştırma, 2017-2018 bahar yarıyılı döneminde, Adana İli Yüreğir İlçesi’nde bulunan bir devlet okulunda öğrenim gören 5. Sınıfta bulunan öğrenciler olmak üzere toplam 114 öğrencin katılımıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma; dokuz haftalık bir zamanda toplamda 20 saatlik bir süreçte uygulanmıştır. Deney ve kontrol olmak üzere iki grup rastgele örnekleme yoluyla belirlenmiştir. Uygulama sürecinde deney grubuna masaüstü yayıncılık eğitimi kapsamında motive edici, ilgi çekici ve merak uyandırıcı içeriklerle desteklenmiş olarak hazırlanan, BDE (Bilgisayar destekli eğitim) destekli öğretim programı uygulanmıştır, kontrol grubuna ise düz anlatıma yöntemine dayalı BDE programı uygulanmıştır. Araştırma verilerini toplamak için uzman görüşleriyle güvenirliliği arttırılmış Masaüstü Yayıncılık Eğitimine Yönelik Motivasyon Ölçeği geliştirilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, deney ve kontrol gruplarındaki öğrencilerin motivasyon düzeyleri arasında deney grubu lehine anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmuştur. Deney grubundaki öğrencilerin öntest sontest motivasyon düzeyleri arasında sontest lehine anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmuştur. Ancak, cinsiyet değişkenine bakıldığında motivasyon düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunamamıştır.
