Abstract:

The aim of this study is to reveal the impact of teachers’ overworking perceptions on the feeling of exhaust and the role of mediation in this impact of work-family conflict during the COVID-19 epidemic. Method - The data collected through the survey of 304 teachers working in Ankara have been analyzed. In the study, correlation and regression analyses and the intervariable relationships and effects have been determined, and the structural equality model and the measurement-confirming factor analysis have been applied. In addition, the mediation effect in the study was studied by the prediction test in the Process module. The findings - The findings of the study show that teachers' perception of the excess of workload and the work-family conflict they live affects both the overall level of exhaustion and the dimensions of emotional exhaustion and insensitivity in a meaningful and positive way. On the other hand, it has been determined that the dimension of the personally successful sense of exhaustion (KBHA) is only significantly and negatively affected by the work-family conflict. Finally, it was concluded that teachers who think they have an excessive workload have the competitive mediation effect of the work-family conflict at the exhaust level they experience more work-family conflict and they feel more. Discussions - In light of the research findings, teachers have also been given recommendations to educational sector managers to manage the variables in question that have a negative impact on the business processes of teachers.
