Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the guidance and psychological counseling work in pre-school educational institutions by guiding teachers/psychological consultants. In the research methods of quality research has been used the situation study design. The study’s work group consists of 10 in Istanbul, 10 in private, 10 in public school, 20 psychological consultants. The data collected with the interview questions prepared by the researchers were solved by an imagistic analysis approach. The research included four main topics, including the knowledge of the guidance program, the implementation of the guidance program, the cooperation with the pre-school teacher, the courses taken in the bachelor's education. Psychological counselors pay great attention to the work of guidance and psychological counseling, but there are also those who are not aware of the pre-school guidance program. Psychological consultants at this stage do not dedicate special time to the guidance program, they work only under the guidance of the pre-school teacher. Psychological consultants are very important to work in collaboration with their pre-school teacher. They also believe that the pre-school teacher should also participate in the guidance work unless professional intervention is required. In addition to these findings, psychological consultants pointed out that there was no sufficient space for pre-school courses in bachelor's education. When they get more lessons about pre-school education, they said they would be more judge in the programming.
