Bu çalışmanın amacı eş ilişkilerinde kadına yönelik şiddetin yaygınlığı, ilgili risk faktörleri ve psikolojik belirtileri belirleyerek bu problemi azaltmaya yönelik gelecekteki önleme çalışmalarına yardımcı olmaktır. Şiddet sağlıklı bir sosyal çevrenin oluşumunu olumsuz yönde etkileyen en önemli faktörlerden biridir. Kadına yönelik şiddet, kadına yönelik yapılan fiziksel, cinsel ve ruhsal tahribatlara yol açan davranışların tümünü içermektedir. Geçmişten itibaren kadına yönelik şiddetin her toplum ve kültürde erkekler tarafından uygulandığı gözlemlenmektedir. Bunun yanında kadınların bir birey olarak var olmak yerine bir nesne olarak görülmesi de eş şiddeti oranlarını arttırmaktadır. Toplumsal kadın ve erkek rollerinin benimsendiği ataerkil toplumlarda eş şiddetine olan yatkınlığın daha fazla olduğu görülmektedir. Toplumda farkındalığı arttırmak ve tedbir alınması amacıyla önleme programları geliştirilmelidir. Düzenlenen bilgilendirme programları ile kadınlar yasalar ve kadın hakları ile ilgili kapsamlı bir şekilde bilgilendirilebilecektir. Eş şiddetini konu alan olan bu derleme yazısı şiddet, kadına yönelik şiddetin çeşitleri, risk etmenleri ve yaygınlığını tartışacaktır.
The aim of this study is to help future prevention efforts to reduce this problem by identifying the prevalence of violence against women, related risk factors and psychological symptoms. Violence is one of the most important factors that negatively affect the formation of a healthy social environment. Violence against women includes all the behaviors that lead to physical, sexual and mental harassment against women. From the past, violence against women has been observed by men in every society and culture. In addition, women are seen as an object instead of being a single person, and the proportion of sexual violence is increased. There is a greater tendency to gender violence in the patriarchal societies where women and men’s roles are adopted. Prevention programmes should be developed in order to raise awareness and take action in society. The organized information programmes will allow women to be fully informed about the laws and women’s rights. This edition, which focuses on gender violence, will discuss the varieties, risks and prevalence of violence against women.
The aim of this study is to identify the prevalence of Intimate partner violence IPV against women, related risk factors and psychological symptoms hence to help future prevention studies which aim to reduce this problem. Violence is one of the most important factors affecting the formation of healthy environment in a negative way. Violence against women includes all of the behaviors leading to physical, sexual and psychological damage to women. From the past it has been observed that violence against women has been applied by men in every society and culture. In addition, the fact that women are seen as an object instead of being an individual increases the rates of spousal violence. Patriarchal societies in which the social roles of women and men are embraced seem to have more of a predisposition to IPV. Prevention programs should be planned to increase public awareness and take precautions. Through the organized information programs, women will be able to provide comprehensive information on legislation and women's rights. This review article on IPV will discuss violence, prevalence, types of violence against women and risk factors.
