Güven, Volatilite, Belirsizlik Endeksleri ve Seçilmiş Ekonomik Göstergeler ile Türkiye Kredi Risk Primi Arasındaki Nedensellik İlişkisi

Abstract:

Yatırım kararlarının verilmesinde ülkelerin risk ve belirsizlik durumları oldukça etkili olmaktadır. Bu nedenle çalışmada Türkiye’nin kredi risk priminin göstergesi olan CDS ile finansal ve makroekonomik göstergeler arasındaki nedensellik ilişkisi araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada Ocak 2012 – Kasım 2020 dönemi CDS, BIST 100 Endeksi, Ekonomik Güven Endeksi, Sanayi Üretim Endeksi, Dolar Kuru, CBOE volatilite endeksi, Ekonomi Politika Belirsizlik Endeksi, Türkiye Jeopolitik Risk Endeksi aylık verileri kullanılarak Toda Yamamoto nedensellik analizi uygulanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda CDS’den Ekonomik Güven Endeksi, Dolar Kuru ve Sanayi Üretim Endeksine doğru tek yönlü nedensellik ilişkisi tespit edilirken BIST 100 Endeksi ve Ekonomik Politika Belirsizlik Endeksinden CDS’e doğru tek yönlü nedensellik ilişkisi tespit edilmiştir.

Abstract:

The risk and uncertainty situations of countries are very effective in making investment decisions. Therefore, in the study the relationship between CDS, indicative of Turkey's credit risk premium, and the financial and macroeconomic indicators were investigated. In January 2012 - Noverber 2020 periods, Toda Yamamoto causality analysis was applied using monthly data of CDS, BIST 100 Index , Economic Confidence Index, Industrial Production Index, Exchange Rate, CBOE Volatility Index, Economic Policy Uncertainty Index, Turkey Geopolitical Risk Index in this study. As a result of the study, one-way causality relationship from CDS to Economic Confidence Index, Exchange Rate and Industrial Production Index was determined, while one-way causality relationship from BIST 100 Index and Economic Policy Uncertainty Index to CDS was determined.
