Siyasal partiler demokratik rejimlerde, seçme ve seçilme hakkının kuvveden fiile geçmesini sağlayan örgütlenmelerdir. Çalışmanın dayanağını oluşturan düşünce; demokratik işleyişin temel şartı olarak parti içi demokrasi anlayışının partilerdeki niteliğini belirlemek olup, parti içi demokrasi kavramına yüklenilen anlam çeşitliliğini ortaya koymak ve bu anlamı belirleyen sosyolojik faktörleri belirlemeye çalışmak amacını taşımaktadır. Partilerin hukuki dayanağını oluşturan kurallar ve bunun örgütlenme biçimine yönelik etkileri ile herhangi bir partinin insan unsuru yönünü oluşturan bireylerin sosyolojik özelliklerinin, partinin siyasal yaşamdaki işleyişini belirlediği düşünülmektedir. Çalışmanın temel varsayımı olarak sınanmaya çalışılan bu düşünce doğrultusunda “parti içi demokrasi” kavramı tartışılmış ve Isparta il merkezi olarak sınırlandırdığımız bir alanda, 2002 ile 2016 yılları arasında genel ve yerel seçimlere düzenli olarak katılmış partilerin üye ve yöneticilerinden elde edilen veriler analiz edilerek, parti içi demokrasi kavramının içeriğini oluşturan anlam çeşitliliği ve bu anlamın sosyolojik dayanakları tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır.
Political parties are organizations in democratic regimes that allow the right to vote and to be elected to pass by force. The thought that forms the basis of the study, as the basic condition of democratic function, aims to determine the nature of the understanding of intra-party democracy in the parties, to reveal the diversity of meaning charged with the concept of intra-party democracy and to try to determine the sociological factors that determine this meaning. The rules that constitute the legal basis of the parties and their effects on the form of their organization and the sociological characteristics of individuals that constitute the human element of any party are considered to determine the functioning of the party in the political life. According to this thought, which is trying to be tested as the basic assumption of the study, the concept of "in-party democracy" has been discussed and in a area where we are limited to the Isparta province center, the data obtained from the members and managers of the parties regularly participated in general and local elections between 2002 and 2016 has been analyzed, the meaning diversity that forms the contents of the concept of in-party democracy and the sociological foundations of this meaning have been tried to identify.
