Abstract:

Financial performance assessment is an important process that is sensitive and to be taken into consideration for seeking to continue their existence in an intense competitive environment. In this type of assessment, many criteria and alternatives are faced to develop a comprehensive and effective model. This is considered to be a multi-critical decision-making problem. In this study, the financial performance of 8 companies trading in the Bursa Istanbul (BIST) Transport Index (XULAS) was measured using the Grey Relational Analysis (GIA) method. In the study based on the period 2016-2018, thirteen financial rates were included in the work scope and then the performance ranking results of companies were determined. The study found that the GIA values did not show very high deviations and that high-profit were ranked in the top. In addition, it is determined that the performance rankings of companies operating in the transport sector for 2016-2017 are generally similar, while this situation has been different in 2018.
