Abstract:

This study explores the relationship between narcissism and contradictory emotional sexism. To investigate whether the hostile and protective sexism attitudes of men and women with narcissistic characteristics are differentiated and not recognized, the Economics and Administrative Sciences Faculty of the Anadolu University (Eskişehir) has been selected as a participant in the study. The study was conducted with a total of 210 participants, 105 men and 105 women with an average age of 22.58 (S=1.6) calculated as an average age of 22.58 (S=1.6) and a total of 210 women with an average age of 22.14 (S=1.3) used as a data collection tool the Narcissistic Personality Reserve and the Contradictive Emotional Sexuality Scale. Manova has found that narcissism and hostile sexism attitudes differ from gender to gender, and that men have more narcissistic and hostile sexism attitudes than women. Independent sampling tests have shown that men and women with over narcissistic characteristics have a stronger hostile sexual attitude compared to those low. This study, which shows that it would be more appropriate for men and women to separate the study of narcissism and sexism attitudes in the gender context, is the first study in which the relationship with narcissism as a personality characteristic of sexism is studied.
