Purpose: The presence of the artefacts formed in the image is one of the significant disadvantages of dental volumetric tomography (DVT). Movement artefacts can cause a deterioration of the image quality and cause a repetition of radiography. This is an important point for the patient with DVT, because when it is necessary to repeat the shot, the patient will be unnecessarily exposed to X-ray. This study aims to assess the percentage of movement artefacts observed in DVT-trained patients according to different age groups. Instruments and Methods: From 2014 to 2018, the DVT images of 502 patients (244 men and 258 women) from the 7-80 years of age who apply for any reason at the University of Bezmialem Foundation's Oral, Dental and Chen Radiology Department were retrospective examined. Patients were classified in 3 groups, 0-18 years old, 18-65 years old, 65 years old and older. Results: The percentage of artifact formation according to the age groups of 502 patients (244 men, 258 women) studied with DVT image; 61.84 per cent in the 0-18 age group, 40.82 per cent in the 18-65 age group, and 57.27 per cent in the 65 and older age group. The result: The study we conducted found that children and older patients were more difficult to stand fixed during the shooting and therefore the movement artefacts were formed in the images.
