Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin hemşirelikte araştırma ve gelişmelere yönelik farkındalık ve tutum düzeyleri ile etkileyen faktörlerin incelenmesi ve konu hakkında farkındalık yaratmaktır. Yöntem: Araştırmanın evrenini Akdeniz bölgesinde bir üniversitenin sağlık yüksekokulu hemşirelik bölümünün ikinci ve dördüncü sınıfında okuyan 174 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır (%89.65). Tanımlayıcı tipteki bu çalışmanın örneklemini 156 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Verilerin toplanmasında; Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu ve Hemşirelik Öğrencilerinin Hemşirelikte Araştırma ve Gelişmelere Farkındalığı ve Tutumu Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde yüzde frekans dağılımı, ortalama, bağımsız grup t Test, Mann-Whitney U Test, Kruskal-Wallis Test kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması 20.85 ± 12.09, %66.02’si kadın, %66.6’sı ikinci sınıf öğrencisidir. Öğrencilerin %50.64’ ü bilimsel toplantılara katıldıklarını; %41. 66’sı hiç bilimsel dergi okumadıklarını belirtmiştir. Katılımcıların %60.89’unun araştırma dersi aldığı, % 59.61’ inin biyoistatistik dersi almadığı, %84.61’inin araştırma deneyiminin olmadığı bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerin araştırmaya yönelik tutum ve farkındalık puan ortalaması 122.03 ± 16.28’dır. Bu çalışmada, sadece yaş ile ölçek puan ortalaması arasında anlamlı fark saptanmıştır (p < 0.05). Sonuç ve Öneriler: Bu çalışmada, öğrenci hemşirelerin genel olarak araştırma yapmaya yönelik farkındalık ve tutumlarının olumlu olduğu saptanmıştır. Öğrencilerden yaşı küçük olanların, ikinci sınıfta okuyanların, hemşire olarak çalışanların, kadınların, fen lisesi mezunlarının, bilimsel araştırma yapma deneyimi olmayanların, bilimsel dergi okuyanların araştırma yapmaya yönelik farkındalık ve tutum ölçek puan ortalaması daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin araştırmaya yönelik tutumlarını ve farkındalıklarını arttırmaya yönelik eğitimlerin planlanması, mezuniyet sonrasında benzer çalışmaların yapılması önerilir.
Purpose: The aim of this study is to study and raise awareness of the subject by the factors affecting the level of awareness and attitude of nursing students to research and development in nursing. Method: The universe of research is composed of 174 students studying in the second and fourth classes of the Department of Nursing of a university in the Mediterranean region (89.65%). The examples of this study were formed by 156 students. In the collection of data; the indicative information form and the scale of awareness and attitude of nursing students to research and developments in nursing have been used. In the assessment of the data, percentage frequency distribution, average, independent group t Test, Mann-Whitney U Test, Kruskal-Wallis Test was used. Results: The average age of students is 20.85 ± 12.09, 66.02 percent are women, 66.6 percent are second-class students. 50.64% of students attended scientific meetings; 41% of students attended scientific meetings. 66 said they never read scientific journals. It was found that 60.89% of participants received research lessons, 59.61% did not take biostatistics lessons, and 84.61% did not have research experience. The student’s attitude and awareness score for research is 122.03 ± 16.28. In this study, a significant difference was found only between the age and the scale score average (p < 0.05). Results and Recommendations: In this study, it was found that the student nurses’ awareness and attitudes towards conducting research in general were positive. Students who are younger than age, students in second class, nurses, women, high school graduates, those who have no experience in doing scientific research, scientist journals readers have a higher average of awareness and attitude scale score to do research. Planning training to enhance the attitudes and awareness of nursing students towards research, similar studies are recommended after graduation.
