Amaç: Çalışmada, üniversite kız öğrencilerinin beden algısı, benlik saygısı, yeme tutumları ve beden kitle indeksi ile ilişkisinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Evreni Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli Üniversitesi Hemşirelik bölümü kız öğrencileri oluşturmuş (N=324), 181 kişi ile tamamlanmıştır. Öğrencilere Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu, Yeme Tutumu Testi, Beden Algısı Ölçeği, Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Bulgular: Bedenini normal algılayan öğrencilerde yeme bozukluğu riski %14.3 iken aşırı kilolu algılayan öğrencilerde bu risk %83.3’e çıkmaktadır. Öğrencilerin beden algısı ile benlik saygısı toplam puanları arasında pozitif yönde güçlü bir ilişki saptanmıştır. Çalışmada öğrencilerin %24.3’ünde yeme bozukluğu riski, %30.9’unda düşük beden algısı olduğu, %10.5’inde ise düşük benlik saygısı olduğu saptanmıştır. Öğrencilerin beden kitle indeksi ile beden algısı, günlük aktivite durumu ile yeme bozukluğu riski ve beden algısı, sigara ve alkol kullanma ile yeme bozukluğu riski arasındaki farklar istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerin kilo verme yöntemleri ile yeme bozukluğu riski arasındaki ilişki istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur. Benlik saygısı ölçeği ile ilaç kullanma yöntemi arasındaki ilişki istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Anne baba eğitim düzeyi ile yeme bozukluğu riski arasında ilişki istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Sonuç: Öğrencilerin kendi beden algılarını fark etmeleri ve kilo verme yöntemleri konusunda bilgilendirilmesi ve fiziksel aktiviteyi arttırmaları sağlanmalıdır.
Purpose: The study aims to evaluate the relationship of college girls with body perception, self-respect, eating attitudes and body mass index. Method: Universe Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University Nursing Department formed girls students (N=324), completed with 181 people. Students have been applied the indicative form of information, the test of eating attitude, the body perception scale, the self-esteem scale. Results: The risk of eating disorders is 14.3% in students who perceive their body normal, while the risk of overweight is 83.3% in students who perceive their body. A strong relationship in the positive direction has been established between the student's body perception and the total points of self-respect. In the study, 24.3 percent of students were at risk of eating disorders, 30.9 percent had low body perception, 10 percent. In the fifth verse, it was revealed that he had a low self-esteem. The differences between the body mass index and the body perception of students, the daily activity status and the risk of eating disorders and the body perception, smoking and alcohol use and the risk of eating disorders have been statistically significant. The relationship between students’ weight loss methods and the risk of eating disorders has been statistically meaningful. The relationship between the scale of self-righteousness and the method of drug use has been statistically meaningful (p<0.05). The relationship between the educational level of parents and the risk of eating disorders has been statistically significant (p<0.05). Result: Students should be aware of their own body perceptions and informed about how to lose weight and increase physical activity.
