Abstract:

In the study, the information about the International History Congress held in Oslo on August 14, 1928, and written by Ali Muzaffer Bey, who was a professor at the Faculty of Literature, will be provided considering the author's impressions. This one was the sixth of international history congresses held in Oslo. The main reason for selecting this congress was to examine its influence on the history studies and teachings of the new state based on the principle of Nationalism. The lack of an original study addressing the Oslo History Congress increases the value of this study. While the seeds of nationalist movements were being newly sown worldwide, holding an international history congress in Oslo and sending an observer from Turkey are of importance for the origins of Turkish historical studies. Therefore, it is essential to bring the author's notes to light in order to shed light on the origins of historical studies. In this study, the International History Congress held in Oslo was addressed based on archival documents. Method of the study is historical research method within the scope of qualitative research. Data were analyzed using document analysis technique.
