As the COVID-19 virus, which was seen in China at the end of December 2019, affects the entire world, the countries have gone to various restrictions in the context of the fight against the virus. In this process, the universities in Turkey also began distance learning on 16 March 2020. Academics and students have brought different experiences with this period. In this study, the general assessment of the remote education system in Turkey, which was forced due to Covid-19, was discussed within the literature framework. In addition, with Covid-19, the paradigm shift in education has been proposed by discussing the platforms for distance learning that universities use, the digital skills of teachers, the student’s ownership of technological tools and the size of content quality. It is recommended that the hybrid education system be implemented instead of the full transition to remote education.
