Abstract:

People have started to produce and consume more with the scientific developments in the world, industrialization, change of living standards and rapid population growth. Increasing consumption rates have led to the rapid depletion of resources and the proliferation of waste materials. In this respect, the concept of sustainability has started to gain importance in recent years. One of the areas that affect the environment negatively and where production and consumption is the most is fashion and textile. In this area, pre-consumption and post-consumption wastes are recovered in various ways and reused. In this way, it is aimed to increase the lifetime of the products by minimizing the negative impact of wastes on the environment. In this study, the effect of sustainability on fashion and textile sector was investigated and its reflections on art products were examined with examples.
