Abstract:

The French counterpart has gained universality in the direction of the ideas he has shown, and has influenced the whole world. The concepts such as justice, freedom, equality, nationality have been a source of inspiration for many nations after the conflict. The effects of the conflict have also entered the Ottoman territory by means of the press and publication, and by means of the students and scientists who go to Europe. The Ottoman State has a multinational social structure and has ranked the top of the countries in Europe where the influences of the conflict are widely seen. Although the Ottoman state men at the beginning of the Islamic Republic saw it as an internal matter of Europe and were sufficient to watch from a distance, the minority rebellions that began shortly later showed that they would not be able to avoid the effects of the conflict on the Ottoman government. The new order brought by the French Antiquity was one of the decisive factors on the Ottoman political and mental life of the 19th century. The idea of renewal has gained importance, and with the influence of the students and illuminates sent to Europe with this purpose, the understanding of Western thought and political governance has begun to gain more place in the Ottoman idea life. This study has studied the impact of the French Antiquity on the Ottoman political and mental life. Thus, it was tried to reveal the effects of the Antiquity on the Ottoman modernization of the 19th century.
