Abstract:

Valentin Rasputin, one of the most important writers of 20th century Russian literature, includes the drama of a child who has to live in difficult conditions in his story called “French Lessons”, which is known to contain autobiographical elements. The most important feature of the hero of the story is that he is willing to be separated from his family for education, to struggle with hunger and loneliness, despite his young age. But in addition to these difficult conditions, he has another problem to deal with: peer bullying. It is seen that his teacher gave him the greatest support in this difficult process. It is a fact that peer bullying, which is one of the most important problems of our age, has existed in the past and will exist in the future. It is seen that Valentin Rasputin also touched on this subject in his story “French Lessons”. The study is carried out in order to determine the appearances of peer bullying in the story. Firstly, the work that was the subject of the study was read without any record, and then it was read in the focus of peer bullying and descriptive analysis was made. The data obtained were analyzed by separating them under the headings of views on the forms of bullying, the victim, the types of bullies and the ways of solving bullying problems.
