Abstract:

Scriabin is one of the most important composers who lived between the 19th and 20th centuries. Scriabin, who started his education life mostly to train as a performer, however later became interested in composition. At the end of this process, he decided to play only his own works after his graduation. In this way, he had a very special and personal pianistic style. As a pianist, he used very personal and rich tones, harmonic and thematic embroideries, rubatos and broad legato lines in his works, with the effect of performing only his own works. He has a special place in the history of music thanks to the features and individuality of the works he has created. Since the composer performed only his own works, his piano style also developed and changed gradually. While his early works were under the influence of Chopin, he became increasingly individualized and sought new ways. Therefore, in this study, first of all, Alexander Scriabin's life was mentioned, the historical origin of the etude form was explained, the characteristics of the composer's early music were mentioned, and the Op. 8, No. 12 Etude, which is one of the works that best reflects the general characteristics of the composer's early music, was examined.
