Abstract:

Abdal Musa Sultan is an important figure who has a special and respected position among the the Alevi-Bektasi communities in Anatolia; although centuries have been passed. It is possible to see his importance even through the Cem and lokma rituals performed in his name among the relevant communities. In this research; Abdal Musa Birlik Cemleri and Lokma (Abdal Musa Unison Cem Rituals and Lokma) has been discussed in context of the Arguvan region, which has its own characteristic practices in terms of cultural, musical and religious facts. Based on the research findings; it is determined that the performing of Abdal Musa Cem rituals consists of various parts such as affection, judgment, related Cem rituals and lokma prayer/ceremony; and it can also be limited to only lokma and prayers without performing Cem rituals. The musical phenomenon in these Cem rituals consists of the forms of deyiş, duvaz, mersiye, semah and tevhid, similar to other Cem rituals in the region, and elegies can also be performed according to the preference of the Dede or Aşık of Cem ritual. During the research; document analysis, observation and interview methods were used and the data obtained was evaluated within the scope of qualitative research methods.
