15. yüzyılın ortalarında Avrupa'da büyük bir panik yaşanmıştı. Bu panik Fatih Sultan Mehmed'in 1453 yılında Konstantiniyye'yi fethetmesi sonucunda kısa sürede Batı'ya doğru hızla ilerlemesi ile ilgiliydi. Avrupa devletleri, acilen Türk tehditine karşı büyük işlemler görmeye ve Türk karşıtı bir blok oluşturulmasına başlamışlardı. Azerbaycan'ı bu bloğa çekmek için kapsamlı bir politika izleniyordu. Amaç Azerbaycan'ı Osmanlı Devleti'ne karşı savaşa sokmak, iki güçlü Türk devletini birbiriyle savaştırmak, ikisini de zayıflatmak ve yok etmekti. Bu nedenle birbiri ardına Avrupa diplomatları Türkiye'ye ve Azerbaycan'a gönderiliyordu. Yazımızda kaleme aldığımız gezgin Pietro della Valle, devlet tarafından gönderilen elçi değildi ama onun da amacının diplomatların amaçlarından hiçbir farkı yoktu. Gezgin, Kızılbaş ordusuna katılarak Türklere karşı savaşmak istiyordu. 1614-1615'te Türkiye'de, 1617-1621'de ise Safevi devletinin İsfahan şehrinde yaşamış Pietro della Valle, Safevi-Osmanlı savaşlarınının şahidi olmuş, gördüklerini kendi kanaatince tahlil etmiş ve dostu Mario Skipanoya yazmıştır. Bu yazımızda gezginin mektuplarına dayanarak Safevi-Osmanlı ilişkilerini takip edecek ve yazdığı bilgileri tenkit ve tahlil edeceğiz. Tarihi geçmişe bakmaktaki amacımız gelecekte bu tür tuzaklara düşmemek, her zaman savaştan değil barıştan yana olmak, birlik olup el ele vererek ülkelerimizin vatandaşlarının barış ve huzur içinde yaşamasını sağlamaktır.
In the middle of the 15th century, there was a great panic in Europe. This panic was related to Mehmed the Conqueror's rapid advance towards the West in a short time as a result of his conquest of Constantinople in 1453. The European states immediately began to take major actions against the Turkish threat and to form an anti-Turkish bloc. A comprehensive policy was followed to attract Azerbaijan to this bloc. The aim was to bring Azerbaijan into the war against the Ottoman Empire, to make the two powerful Turkish states fight each other, to weaken and destroy both of them. For this reason, the European diplomats were sent to Turkey and Azerbaijan one after the other. The traveler Pietro della Valle, whom we wrote about in our article, was not an ambassador sent by the state, but his aim was no different from the aims of diplomats. The traveler wanted to fight against the Turks by joining the Qizilbash army. Pietro della Valle, who lived in Turkey in 1614-1615 and in Isfahan city of the Safavid state during 1617-1621, witnessed the Safavid-Ottoman wars, analyzed what he saw in his own opinion and wrote to his friend Mario Schipano. The traveler expressed his desire as follows: “I will soon serve him (Shah Abbas) with the sword in my hand against the Turks.” And he was explaining: “After crossing Turkey with the desire to harm the Turks... on the way to Iran ... to the detriment of that nation (Turks), in the service of this king. I was thinking about various things, what could I do for the benefit of Christianity”. These statements actually reveal obviously the traveler's intentions and require careful examination of his letters. In this article, we will follow the Safavid-Ottoman relations based on the traveler's letters and criticize and analyze the information he wrote. Our aim in looking at the historical past is not to fall into such traps in the future, to be always on the side of peace rather than war, to unite and to ensure that the citizens of our countries live in peace and tranquility.
