Bu çalışmanın amacı, devlet ve vakıf üniversitelerinde turizm ve seyahat hizmetleri ön lisans programında çalışan akademisyenlerin eğitim profillerinin incelenmesidir. Çalışmanın evreni Türkiye’de devlet ve vakıf üniversitelerinin turizm ve seyahat hizmetleri ön lisans programında çalışan akademisyenlerin tümünü kapsamaktadır. Çalışmada veri toplama tekniği olarak nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden betimsel tarama kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın verileri YÖK Akademik web sitesi ve ilgili üniversitelerin web sitelerinden elde edilmiştir. Toplanan verilere göre 34 meslek yüksekokulunda görevli 108 akademisyen olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu akademisyenlerin yaklaşık %60’ının öğretim görevlisi olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Akademisyenlerin eğitim aldıkları alanlar incelendiğinde, 63’ünün lisans, 56’sının yüksek lisans ve 39’unun doktora eğitiminin turizm alanından olduğu gözlenmiştir. Lisans, yüksek lisans ve doktora eğitimlerinde Turizm alanından sonra en çok eğitim alınan alanın işletme olduğu görülmüştür. Turizm ve işletme dışında ise lisans düzeyinde 21, yüksek lisans düzeyinde 19 ve doktora düzeyinde 16 farklı bölümün olduğu bulgularına ulaşılmıştır.
The aim of this study is to examine the education profiles of academicians working in tourism and travel services associate degree programs at state and foundation universities. The universe of the study includes all academicians working in tourism and travel services associate degree programs of state and foundation universities in Turkey. In the study, descriptive scanning, one of the qualitative research methods, was used as a data collection technique. The data of the study were obtained from the YÖK Academic website and the websites of the relevant universities. According to the collected data, it has been determined that there are 108 academicians working in 34 vocational schools. It has been determined that approximately 60% of these academicians are lecturers. When the fields of education of the academicians are examined, it is seen that 63 of them have undergraduate, It was observed that 56 of them had master's degree and 39 of them doctorate education in the field of tourism. In undergraduate, graduate and doctorate education, it has been seen that the most studied field after Tourism is business. Apart from tourism and business, it was found that there are 21 different departments at undergraduate level, 19 at master's level and 16 different departments at doctorate level.
