Abstract:

This study examines in detail the ceramic collection of the Professor Ülker Muncuk Museum, which has a special status and operates under Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, Faculty of Art and Design, and documents the 20th century ceramics exhibited especially through the works of Hakkı İzet, one of the first generation ceramic artists. explains the process in detail. Hakkı İzet's contributions to contemporary ceramic art and the prominent features of these works are examined in detail not only in terms of art history, but also in the context of his significant contributions to cultural history with reference to the second century of the Republic of Türkiye. In addition, the team led by Professor Ülker Muncuk focused on the artistic, historical value and reasons for preference of the porcelain tableware. This tableware was used to host many local and foreign dignitaries who visited the school when it was established within the Girls' Technical College on the 50th anniversary of the Republic, and it is part of the museum inventory today. The issue of how the works can be brought into the new museology literature is evaluated in detail on the ethnographic perspective. In addition to all these, suggestions have been made regarding the current exhibition conditions of the museum and their alignment with the new mentality of museology.
