Abstract:

Landslides are an important type of natural disaster that causes loss of life and property, depending on the size of the effect. In addition to sudden and heavy rains and earthquakes, reasons such as the construction of buildings on the slopes opened to settlement without the necessary engineering studies, blasting and excavation works for different purposes, and the destruction of natural vegetation trigger landslides in any area. Interpreting the mass movements that occur as a result of the landslide disaster and analyzing the resulting outputs are possible by constantly monitoring the landslide area. Monitoring the mass movements resulting from a landslide disaster is a laborious task that requires intense field work. Today, there are many methods of monitoring landslides belonging to different engineering disciplines. The aim of this study is to examine the scientific studies carried out in the world and in our country on the monitoring of mass movements in landslide areas with geodetic methods. Thus, this article will provide useful information in terms of geodetic methods used and future directions for people working on the monitoring of mass movements that occur as a result of landslides with the help of geodetic methods.
