Abstract:

Objective: Determining the patients' perception of perioperative nursing care quality is important in ensuring the continuity of the quality of the health service provided. The aim of this study is to determine the quality of perioperative care in surgical patients and the factors affecting them. Materials and Methods: This descriptive study was conducted with the participation of 100 patients who underwent general surgery or orthopedic surgery in a public hospital between June 2021 and May 2022. "Patient Information Form" and " Good Perioperative of Nursing Care Scale Quality" were used as data collection tools in the study. Results: The patients' Good Perioperative of Nursing Care Scale Quality mean score was found to be 140.0±16.9. The highest sub-dimension mean score was found to be respect, and the lowest sub-dimension mean score was found as support. The patients' Good Perioperative of Nursing Care Scale Quality total score averages (p=0.008), information (p = 0.019), support (p=0.013), respect (p=0.000), personnel characteristics (p=0.006), environment (p=0.001) and nursing process (p = 0.017) of the surgery performed were found to affect sub-dimension mean scores. Conclusion: It was determined that patients who underwent surgery perceived perioperative nursing care as high quality.
