Abstract:

This study is aimed to examine the perception levels of students who are attending in high schools affiliated to the National Education Directorates of Odunpazarı and Tepebaşı districts in Eskisehir and who have been taught in distance education during the COVID-19 pandemic, in terms of various variables. For this purpose, a total of 526 secondary school students participated in the research conducted with the cross-sectional survey model of the quantitative research method. The data of the study were collected online via the "High School Students' Distance Education Perceptions Scale" developed by Doğrukök, Kurnaz, Barışık and Kaynar (2021). Some of the findings obtained in the research are as follows: (1) Distance education perceptions of students do not show a significant difference according to gender, income status, class levels and liking school during formal education. (2) It was observed that the perception levels of the students who entered the public high schools without an exam were at a higher level than the students who entered the state high schools with an exam score. (3) Preparatory class, 10th and 12th grade students' perceptions of homework given in the distance education period and their attitudes towards distance education are at a higher level than that of the 9th and 11th grade students. (4) It has been determined that students who have no problems in entering the EBA system have higher scores in terms of both their perceptions of distance education and their perception levels of themselves, teaching practices and homework in distance education compared to students who have problems occasionally or all the time.
