The main purpose of this study was to examine the prediction level of the constructivist learning environment on the characteristics of thinking friendly classroom Totally 727 fifth grade students from 10 elementary schools which are located in Adana central districts participated to the study Thinking Friendly Classroom Scale TFCS and Constructivist Learning Environment Scale CLES were used as data collection tools To analyze the gathered data regression analysis was performed According to the results fifth grade students’ have highly positive perceptions toward their classrooms’ environment in terms of having the characteristics of a thinking friendly classroom and a constructivist learning environment Sub scales of the Constructivist Learning Environment Scale all together predicted significantly the scores gathered from the Thinking Friendly Classroom Scale As conclusion it can be said that characteristics of constructivist learning environment are among the determinants of thinking friendly classroom Key Words: Thinking Thinking friendly classroom environment constructivist learning environment
