19.yüzyılda Osmanlı İmparatorluğunda müzik devletin yönetiminde çok önemli bir yer tutmuştur. 19.yüzyıl batılılaşma hareketinin de etkisi ile siyasi, askeri, ekonomik, kültürel reformlar ile devlet üzerinde sanatsal alanda ki müzik kültürü de değişikliğe uğramıştır. Dönemin padişahları Sarayda müzik kültürüyle beraber büyümüşlerdir. Osmanlı Saraylarında her ne kadar müzik unsurunun olduğunu söylemek mümkün olsa da yürütülen politikalar bazı müzik türlerinin değişikliğe uğramasına sebep olmuştur. Osmanlı İmparatorluğunda dönemin önemli bir değişikliği sayılan Mehterhanenin kapatılıp yerine askeri bando olan Musikâ-i Hümâyûn’un kurulması Osmanlıda ki müzik yapılanmasının farklı bir boyuta geçmesine olanak sağlamıştır. Osmanlıda batı müziği hareketinin başlamasının en önemli etkenlerinin devletin yetiştirdiği sanatkâr sultanlar ve bestekârların olduğunu gözlemlenmektedir. İmparatorluğun merkezi olan Saray sanatında merkezi haline gelmiştir. Osmanlıda dönemin müziğe yön veren yenilikçi Sultanları ve bestekârları sayılan III. Selim, Sultan II. Mahmud, Donizetti Paşa, Sultan Abdülmecid, Sultan Abdülaziz ve Sultan II. Abdülhamid gibi sanatkâr isimler makalede incelenmiştir. Bu araştırmada, 19.yüzyılda Osmanlıda müziğin konumu, gelişimi, müzikteki batılılaşma sürecinde dönemin bestekâr olan Osmanlı Sultanları ve müzisyenlerinin döneme nasıl etki ettikleri ve bu etkilerin sonuçları incelenecektir.
In the 19th century, music played an important role in the management of the state in the Ottoman Empire. With the influence of the westernization movement of the 19th century, the musical culture in the artistic field on the state has also changed through political, military, economic and cultural reforms. The sultans of the period grew up in the palace together with the music culture. Although it is possible to say that there are music elements in the Ottoman palaces, the policies carried out have led to changes in some types of music. Mehterhane, which was considered an important change in the Ottoman Empire, was closed and the establishment of the military band Musikâ-i Hümâyûn, which replaced the Ottoman musical structure, allowed a new dimension to the Ottoman Empire. It is observed that the most important factors in the initiation of the Western music movement in the Ottoman Empire were the artful sultans and composers trained by the state. The palace, the center of the empire, has become a center for art. Innovative Sultans and composers of the period in the Ottoman music, III. Selim, Sultan II. Mahmud, Donizetti Pasha, Sultan Abdulmecid, Sultan Abdulaziz and Sultan II. Artist names such as Abdulhamid are examined in the article. In this research, the position, development of music in the Ottoman Empire in the 19th century, the effects of the Ottoman Sultans and musicians who were composers of the period in the process of westernization in music and the results of these effects will be examined.
