Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, yaşlı bakım programı öğrencilerinin yaşlı ayrımcılığına ilişkin tutumlarını incelemektir. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı nitelikteki bu çalışma 2017-2018 eğitim-öğretim yılında, Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi Tonya Meslek Yüksek Okulu yaşlı bakım programında öğrenim görmekte olan 50 öğrenci ile yapıldı. Verilerin toplanmasında araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulan Kişisel Bilgi Formu ve Yaşlı Ayrımcılığı Tutum Ölçeği kullanıldı. Veriler yüzdelik, ortalama, standart sapma, bağımsız gruplarda t testi, Mann-Whitney U, One-way ANOVA ve Kruskal-Wallis Varyans Analizi testi ile değerlendirildi. Bulgular: Öğrencilerin Yaşlı Ayrımcılığı Tutum Ölçeği toplam puan ortalaması 71.07±5.06 olarak bulundu ve yaşlı ayrımcılığına ilişkin olumlu tutuma sahip oldukları görüldü. Erkek öğrencilerin yaşlının yaşamını sınırlama alt boyut puan ortalaması (22.14±4,23), kadın öğrencilerin yaşlının yaşamını sınırlama alt boyut puan ortalamasından (19,44±3,87) daha yüksektir. Cinsiyetin yaşlı ayrımcılığı tutum ölçeği toplam puan ortalamasıyla da arasında anlamlı fark olduğu bulundu (0.01). Erkek öğrencilerin yaşlı ayrımcılığı tutum ölçeği toplam puan ortalamasının (74,52±4,37),kadın öğrencilerin yaşlı ayrımcılığı tutum ölçeği toplam puan ortalamasından (70,15±5,06) daha yüksek olduğu tespit edildi. Çalışmadaki öğrencilerin kardeş sayısının yaşlı ayrımcılığı tutum ölçeğinin yaşlının yaşamını sınırlama alt boyut puan ortalamasıyla ve yaşlıya yönelik olumlu tutum alt boyut puan ortalamasıyla arasında anlamlı bir fark olduğu görüldü (p<0.05). Sonuç: Yaşlı bakım programı öğrencilerinin yaşlı ayrımcılığına ilişkin tutumları olumlu bulundu. Geleceğin sağlık bakım elemanı olan yaşlı bakım programı öğrencilerinin yaşlı ayrımcılığına yönelik tutumlarının olumlu olması yaşlı bireylere sunulacak sağlık hizmetlerinin kalitesinin artmasını sağlayacaktır.
Purpose: The aim of this study is to study the attitudes of the elderly care program students towards elderly discrimination. Method: This study of defining quality was done in the 2017-2018 educational year, with 50 students who are studying in the Senior Care Program at the Black Sea Technical University of Tonya Professional High School. The data collection used the Personal Information Form created by the researchers and the Adult Discrimination Attitude Scale. The data was evaluated by percentage, average, standard deviation, t test in independent groups, Mann-Whitney U, One-way ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis Varyans Analysis test. Results: The average score of students' age discrimination attitude scale was 71.07±5.06 and they found to have a positive attitude towards age discrimination. The average low-dimensional score limiting the life of the elderly of male students (22.14±4,23), is higher than the average low-dimensional score limiting the life of the elderly of female students (19,44±3,87). The age discrimination attitude scale found a significant difference between the total score and the average (0.01). The study found that the number of brothers and sisters in the study was a significant difference between the low-dimensional score average limiting the life of the elder and the positive attitude towards the elder with the low-dimensional score average (p<0.05). The result: Elderly care program found the students' attitudes towards elderly discrimination positive. The elderly care program, which is the element of health care of the future, will ensure that the positive attitude of students towards age discrimination will improve the quality of health services offered to elderly individuals.
