BİR AİLE SAĞLIĞI MERKEZİNE BAŞVURAN BİREYLERİN YAŞLI AYRIMCILIĞI TUTUMLARININ DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Abstract:

Amaç: Bu çalışmada amaç, bir aile sağlığı merkezine başvuran bireylerin yaşlı ayrımcılığı tutumlarının değerlendirilmesidir. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel türdeki çalışmanın evrenini, Karadeniz Bölgesi’ndeki bir ilde bulunan Aile Sağlığı Merkezi (ASM)’ne başvuran bireyler oluşturmaktadır (n=350). Çalışmanın örneklemini 320 kişi oluşturmuştur. Çalışma verileri, ‘Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu ve Yaşlı Ayrımcılığı Tutum Ölçeği’ kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Veriler SPSS 20.00 programı ile analiz edilmiş ve anlamlılık düzeyi p<0.05 olarak kabul edilmiştir. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan bireylerin %60.0’ı kadın, %65.6’sı evli, %30.9’u üniversite mezunudur. Bireylerin eğitim durumu ve meslekleri ile ölçekten aldıkları puan ortalamaları arasındaki fark anlamlı bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Eğitim düzeyi ve yaşlının yaşamını sınırlama ölçek alt puan ortalaması arasında; mesleği ile yaşlının yaşamını sınırlama, yaşlıya yönelik olumlu ayrımcılık ve yaşlıya yönelik olumlu ayrımcılık ölçek alt puanları arasındaki fark anlamlı bulunmuştur(p<0.05). Aile tipine göre yaşlıya yönelik olumsuz ayrımcılık ölçek alt puanı arasında; bireylerin yaşlıyla birlikte yaşama durumu ve yaşlı ile aynı evde yaşamayı isteme durumu ile yaşlıya yönelik olumsuz ayrımcılık ölçek alt puanı arasında anlamlılık bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Sonuç: Eğitim durumu yükseldikçe, çalışan bireylerin sayısı arttıkça yaşlıya yönelik olumsuz tutumun arttığı, geniş aile tipine sahip ailelerin olumlu ayrımcılık alt ölçek boyutunda olumlu tutuma sahip olduğu bulunmuştur. Farklı disiplinlerle iş birliği ile yapılacak konu ile ilgili daha geniş evrene sahip araştırmaların desteklenmesi ve yaşlı ayrımcılığına karşı her sektörde bilinçlendirici faaliyetlerin yapılması önerilmektedir.

A Family Health Center Applications for the Elderly Admissions Assessment

Purpose: The aim of this study is to evaluate the behavior of elderly discrimination of individuals who apply to a family health center. Method: The universe of identificative and cutting-edge work is formed by individuals who apply to the Family Health Center (ASM) located in a province in the Black Sea Region (n=350). The study was conducted by 320 people. The study data was collected using the 'Intentional Information Form and Age Discrimination Attitude Scale'. The data was analyzed with the SPSS 20.00 program and the meaning level was accepted as p<0.05 . Results: 60.0% of the respondents were women, 65.6% married and 30.9% university graduates. There was a significant difference between the educational status of individuals and their professions and the scale score they obtained (p<0.05). There is a significant difference between the scale of education and the scale of limitation of the life of the elderly; the scale of limitation of the life of the elderly; the scale of positive discrimination against the elderly; and the scale of positive discrimination against the elderly. The negative discrimination against the elderly by family type has been significant between the scale subpoint; the status of individuals living with the elderly and the desire to live in the same home with the elderly and the negative discrimination against the elderly scale subpoint (p<0.05). The result: As the educational status rises, the number of working individuals increases, the negative attitude towards the elderly increases, the families with a wide family type have a positive attitude at the low scale of discrimination. It is recommended to support research with a broader universe on the subject in cooperation with different disciplines and to carry out awareness-building activities in each sector against age discrimination.

The study was completed with 320 people. The study data were collected using the ‘Descriptive Information Form and the Elderly Discrimination Attitude Scale’. The data were analyzed with SPSS 20.00 program and the significance level was accepted as p <0.05. Results: Of the individuals in study, 60.0% were female, 65.6% were married, and 30.9% were university graduated. The difference between the educational status and occupation of the individuals and the mean scores obtained from the scale were found to be significant (p<0.05). Between the level of education and the average of the subscale of the scale limiting the life of the elderly; There was a significant difference between the profession and limiting the life of the elderly, positive discrimination towards the elderly and positive discrimination towards the elderly subscales (p<0.05). Among the negative discrimination scale subscale for the elderly by family type; there was a significant correlation between the living status of the individuals with the elderly and the desire to live in the same house with the elderly and the negative discrimination subscale score for the elderly (p<0.05). Conclusion: It was found that the higher the education level and the higher the number of working individuals, the negative attitude towards the elderly increased. It was found that families with extended family type had positive attitudes in terms of positive discrimination subscale. As a suggestion, it is recommended to support researches with a wider universe on the subject to be conducted in cooperation with different disciplines and to carry out awareness raising activities in every sector against elderly discrimination.
